March 2013.

We were in Michigan for the majority of March.  The few days we were actually in Florida, we spent them outside, enjoying the gorgeous "spring" weather.

One day while visiting Brian at work, we headed outside to play some basketball in the parking lot.  Fun and dramatic - as usual!

The park is becoming easier and easier to manage with all 3 boys.  Brennan does his own thing, so the biggest job there is making sure that no one steals him.  Beckett is pretty low key and not much of a daredevil, so he usually sticks to climbing the stairs and going down the little slide.  Kiernan is the tricky one (duh) because he likes to climb and jump off of things and such.

Michigan Trip {March 2013}.

**Warning**  Lot's of words ahead!  And pictures! **

There are few things as hectic as planning a 24+ hour road trip for our crew, not to mention packing for the 2+ week stay.  And when we're preparing for one of these trips, Brian is usually cramming in as much time at work as possible so that he can have himself prepared for a few days off.  This means that I do 90% of the prep work myself.

Which also means that we never leave for a road trip when we plan to leave.  EVER.

So it wasn't at all a surprise to either of us when we were still packing/cleaning/throwing kids in the car 3 hours after we meant to leave.  And since we planned to leave after dinner, we were dealing with tired kids.  And cranky spouses.  Because, you know, it's my fault because I didn't get everything done and it's his fault because he works too damn much.

So after a long night of driving, we arrived in Virginia to stay with Brian's sister Jen & bro-in-law Brian.  We met Jen and our friend Sala at the Museum of Natural History in DC.  The boys had a blast running around with Sala's daughter, and we were just happy to be out of the car.  That night we crashed at Jen & Brian's house.  I always forget how great of an artist my sister-in-law is until I see her paintings.  I love them.

Blessings Unlimited ... FLASH SALE!

So, as if I wasn't already drowning in life, I decided to go ahead and take on another "hobby".

Here's the deal.  Mommy needs to get out of this house.  Childless.  And husbandless for that matter.

Usually, Mommy getting out = Mommy spending money.

But the bills gotta get paid, friends.

It's really important to both of us that I stay home with the boys until they are all in school.  Not to mention that the childcare costs would be insane.  So I started brainstorming things that I could do to make a little cash and have a SUPER flexible schedule.

Enter ... direct sales.

Y'all, the market is really flooded with a lot of companies.  I'm not going to name them, but you know the ones.  You could probably name several people that you know of who sell the same products.  This stuff is popular, and for good reason ... it's all great stuff!  So I'm certainly not knockin' any of it.  I just knew that I wanted to bring something in to a fresh market.

So where do you go when you want advice on what people would like to see in your area?  Two words: Mom Groups.

I asked my local MOPs group and got a big response for Blessings Unlimited.

Ummmm, who?  Never heard of it.  But I checked it out, and I gotta tell ya, I'm thankful that I did!  They.Are.Awesome.  The products are awesome quality.  The customer service is top notch.  My Team Leader told me that they say a prayer when the package up each shipment to send out.  Their mission statement?  "To pursue the heart of God and bring blessings to others."  I mean, come on.  Can it get any sweeter??

Blessings Unlimited offer really pretty, very unique home decor and gift items, all centered around spreading God's love.  If you're interested, you can check out my personal Blessings Unlimited page or my Blessings Unlimited Facebook page (and if you "Like" it I'll love you forever).

Products can be purchased on my website or you can host a Gathering and earn FREE product!  And yes, that counts for Online Gatherings too.

God's Light in Me! book for Boys $5 and Truman the Dog (from the book) for $8 ... $13 for such a cute set!

OK, so all that sch-peel to tell you that Blessings is having a big FLASH Sale!  They're offering some really great stuff for really discounted prices.

The Small Indigo Vase and the Wooden Block Pillar Set are two of my favorite items in the catalog!   And I've been drooling over that Lazy Susan too.

Small Indigo Vase - $24                              Wooden Block Pillar Set - $20

A ... vlog. To prove I'm not dead. Dear Jesus, what has this world come to?

  1. I'm looking reeeeeeeeeally pretty.
  2. Apparently my face was itchy.
  3. My kid is super cute.
  4. All of the things I list in the reasons for being busy sound super lame.  But really, my house is trashed.  Trashed, people.  I think I'm going to document the process of cleaning it just to prove that I'm not totally exaggerating.
  5. No really, my kid is supremely cute, right?

February 2013.

So.

Let's talk monthly updates, shall we?

It is now May, and I am just now sitting down to type out a February recap.  I'm halfway tempted to just say screw it and start fresh with May, but I haven't missed a month since December 2011 and gosh darn it I don't want to break my streak.

And remembering a few months ago isn't as hard as it will be when a few years have passed, right?  Right.

OK, here goes.

February was … um, how do you say it?  Oh.  Yeah.  Chaotic.

You're sensing a theme here, aren't you?

I guess overall it wasn't really that bad.  There were just a few weeks in there that I felt like I wanted to rip my hair out.

It started out fairly normal.  We cleaned & organized the boys' play room, which stayed that way for approximately 4.2 seconds.  Oh well, it needed to be done.  Aside from that it was the normal amount of cuteness (a lot) and drama (a lot too).
