It's not just the numbers that get me, but more so the little boy that he's turning in to. After a few months of dabbling in potty training, it all of the sudden clicked and he's now in underpants except for night time. On Saturday we took the front off of his crib and since then he's been staying in his "big boy bed" all night by himself. He likes to keep track of his brothers, and loves to help out around the house.
What hits me the most is Brennan's language. He speaks in full sentences and has great manners when it comes to please and thank you, especially "No thank you" when he really doesn't want to do something .. like go to bed. "Nope" and "No, not yet" are two favorites lately, and has most recently started asking "Why not?". I find myself doing the "because I said so" dance with him quite frequently after I have exhausted all other reasoning. He loves to say "Mommy, snuggle me!" when he's feeling cuddly, "Mommy, come save me!" when Kiernan is chasing him, and "My Daddy! Daddy's home!" when Brian pulls into the driveway.
Brian and I look at him on a daily basis and ask each other where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday that he was the twins' age. Watching him grow and develop his own little personality has been an amazing gift. We always agree that we lucked out with such a fun, cool, cute kid.
